For the 2024 Google I/O Gemini Developer API Competition, Hello Monday created three interactive AI games to surround the grand prize—a retrofitted electric DeLorean. Designed to inspire developers and showcase the API's capabilities beyond the standard chatbot, I was the developer behind one of these three flagship experiences: Trivia Twister.
Built using Gemini 1.5 Pro, the Trivia Twister app creates a dynamic six-step game by blending user topics. After an initial safety check, Gemini generates six custom trivia questions, each featuring four multiple-choice answers.
Gemini Demo Night
An exclusive brand activation in Japan gave developers hands-on access to the Gemini API's capabilities. Placed alongside other experimental AI tools, Trivia Twister served as a live, tactile case study in how advanced prompting can be instantly translated into engaging, real-time user experiences.
Google I/O Showcase
At Google I/O, the experience took center stage outdoors, flanking the competition's grand prize: a retrofitted electric DeLorean. Installed on interactive pillars, Trivia Twister and its sister apps gave conference attendees a high-visibility, physical destination to test Gemini 1.5 Pro.
